LIFE in COLOURS, The works of Akihiko Izukura in Bonington Gallery

Izukara uses natural dye processes with karyasu clove, lac insect, cochineal and madder. The natural extracts change colour when exposed to the sun. The dyestuff is saved and stocked for future dying process, there is no waste. All the fabrics are sustainable and demonstrate design responsibility.

The pieces are not always consistant in colour but are certainly consistantly beautiful.

'One and only man made, human touch, craftmanship' Akihiko Izukura
